Another day dawns

Yesterday arvo (Monday) was a great afternoon. We took it easy over the course of the afternoon before getting ready for a community feeding program at 4.00 pm. No vehicles anywhere and so we walked our food bucket through the community. Pastor Doi Doi would prepare the way by shouting "feeding." Slow at first, but then this kids would arrive with plates, bowls and cups. These are so much fun as you see where and how people live.

Everyone got involved and it is always an eye opener. The food ran out just as a cock fight commenced. Probably good to move on from that. Not too keen on getting the kids hooked on illegal cock fights. Don't want William getting any ideas, especially since the Bakers at Number 7 also have chooks.

On the way home from the feeding, we threw down the challenge to some local lads for a bit of 4 on 4. The ring is on the side of a rather busy junction. Play is interrupted intermittently by trikes, cars and bikes. Charlie, myself, William & Sammy P were getting smashed until we subbed in the Cavalry. The Cavalry came in the form of Spiderman & Paul from Perth. It was nice to get a few points on the board.

William mucked around with the little kids playing some one on one while Emily played elastics with the locals. Hannah & Jenny played and talked with the little community kids. Tilly & Grace also enjoyed mucking around with the kids on the street. They've all made little buddies.

  1. Fantastic to share your journey Simmons! BTW, we HAD chooks so William would be out of luck with a Larch St illegal fight! Keep up the good work! Xx
